We rode all day to escape Tokyo.

‘I suppose you’ll want to see my garden.’ Says the old lady, who has appeared from nowhere. Her hands are full of some unnamed leaves. Everything is very green. I’m not sure if they are weeds or vegetables. This kind of open friendliness seems strange and refreshing when you live in the city.

My friend points at the big white and orange fish swimming in a tank. ‘Do you eat these fish, or are they for display?’

‘The fish? Look at them. Look how big their mouths are!’ She says, animated, happy to be playing host.

We show that we are looking. The mouths are indeed very big. I’m not sure it answers the question.

東京の喧騒から逃れるために一日中自転車に乗った。

「私の庭をみたいんだね」どこからか来た知らないおばあさんと話した。いろいろな葉を手にいっぱい持ってる。全部鮮やかな緑。野菜かは分からない。都会に住んでいると、この感じはちょっと不思議だけど爽やかだ。

友達が大きなオレンジと白の魚を指差した。「この魚はたべれますか？見るためだけですか？」

「え、魚？見て。この大きな口見てよ！」と嬉しそう言った。

みんな魚を見ている。大きな口だけど質問の答えになってないよ。
